Mahaswamiji's 17th Aradhana Mahotsavam

The 17th Aradhana of His Holiness Pujyasri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Mahaswamiji, the 68th Pontiff of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam was celebrated with devotional fervor at Kanchipuram. The Aradhana celebrations commenced on 30th December with Veda Parayanam and homas.

On the 1st January 2011, Aradhana day, Ekadasa Rudra Japam and homams took place. Abhishekam was performed at the Adhistanam of Pujyasri Mahaswamiji, followed by Alanakaram. Group Singing of Pancharatna Kritis took place at 9.00 am.

The poornahuti of the homams being performed took place in the benign presence of His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji. The sanctified water was taken and abhishekam was offered at the Adhistanam in the presence of His Holiness, who performed Deeparadhana.

Vasordhara, Poornahuti and Mahabhishekam at the Brindavanam was performed in the presence of His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji and His Holiness Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji.Samparadaya Bhajans were rendered on the occasion.

His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji offered the sanctified Akshata to the devotees for more than two hours. A large number of devotees took part in the Aradhana programme and received blessings of Pujyasri Acharya Swamijis.

His Holiness performed the Pradosha Puja in the evening. Following this, His Holiness led the devotees and took the Mahaswami Swarna Ratham (Golden Chariot) around the Adhistanam of Pujyasri Mahaswamiji. A vocal recital was held in the evening.
